New Icon Class Cruise Ships to be built in Turku Finland

The maritime industry goes strong in Finland! Royal Caribbean Group announces the order of 2 new Icon class cruise ships from the Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland. The deliveries are planned for 2029 and 2030. This order belongs to a long-term indusrial plan between the two companies til 2036 focusing on very large ships arounf 250 000 gross tonnage. The agreement brings the number of the Icon Class ships to seven units. The first one Icon of th Seas was delivered in 2024, Star of the Seas in 2025 and Legend of the Seas expected to be delivered during 2026 followed by Hero of the Seas in 2027.
