Marimekko at Fuorisalone 2024

Marimekko, the iconic Finnish lifestyle brand, presented a new format at the Milan Design Week 2024 to celebrate their 6oth anniversary. A lovely poppy cafè named Unikko Bar was opened for Fuorisalone week in the heart of Milan in Via Stoppani in collaboration with Apartamento, a famous interiors publication.
Unikko Bar featured the iconic Unikko design in outdoor parasols, tableware, flooring and waiters clothing expressing the joyful and optimistic lifestyle of the brand.
Unikko was designed by Finnish designer Maija Isola in 1964. She was the leading textile designer of Marimekko for decades. In 2021 also a documentary film was made of teh colourful life of Maija Isola with English title ”Maija Isola Master of Colour”.
