An amazing Finnish hospital technology delegation was in Italy last week during the Hospital Connection programme organized by Team Finland in Italy. The 3-day programme started on Monday November 11 with an interesting workshop titled “Introduction to the Italian private hospital sector” with speakers from AIOP Mr. De Arcayne, CNETO Ms. Carabillò and Business Finland Mr. Salonen. Tuesday was dedicated to the meeting in Milan at Hospital San Raffaele, which is the leading hospital of the biggest Italian private hospital group Gruppo San Donato. Wednesday the delegation moved to the beautiful Garda lake area where took place the meeting with Pederzoli hospital, a technologically advanced private hospital in Peschiera del Garda and also a centre of excellence for example in pancreatic and hand surgery. It was a pleasure to see the enthusiasm of the hospital representatives towards Finnish hospital organisation and especially towards the high level of digitalization and related expertise. Finnish technology companies presented their solutions including nanotech air purification by Genano, shift and space management system by Orkestr.io, Evidence based clinical decision support system by Medilogy, digital health tools for cancer patients by Kaiku Health, wellbeing watches for telehealthcare by Navigil and retinal imaging technology by Optomed. Also the Ambassador Rantala-Engberg participated the programme supporting the health care technology as a strategic sector for Finland. Overall the discussions were very positive and the organizing team composed by the Embassy of Finland, Finnica Consulting and Business Finland is expecting to see concrete collaboration initiatives in the near future.
